Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how BankHound ("BankHound," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information in connection with bankhound.com, its account features, bonus trackers, planning tools, and related communications (the "Service").

This policy applies to visitors and registered users. It does not cover a bank, payroll provider, identity provider, or other website you visit through a link from the Service. Those organizations have their own privacy policies and determine how they use information you give them.

The information involved depends on the features you use. You can browse public bonus offers without creating an account.

• Account information: your name, email address, account identifier, and authentication information. When you use Google sign-in, we receive the profile information Google shares for authentication, which may include your name, email, profile image, and provider identifier. Password-based authentication is handled through our authentication provider.
• Bank-account labels: bank name, account type, nickname, the last four digits you choose to save, and account opening or closing dates. The tracker does not require your full bank-account number, online banking password, Social Security number, or bank security codes. Please do not include these in notes or support messages.
• Planning information: take-home paycheck amounts, pay frequency, payday dates, allocation amounts or percentages, and account assignments you enter or save.
• Tracker activity: saved offers, enrollment dates, requirements, milestones, deposit or transaction amounts and dates, sources, notes, time spent, completion status, payout confirmations, and notification preferences.
• Communications: your contact details and the content of messages or requests you send us.
• Technical and referral information: our website infrastructure may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referrers, and error or security logs. Our referral system records the offer, destination, link source, visitor identifier, and your account identifier if you are signed in.

We use information to operate and support the Service and the features you request.

• Create and secure accounts, maintain sessions, and authenticate users.
• Save your trackers and account labels, calculate planning estimates, and display progress, schedules, and earnings summaries.
• Remember onboarding progress, appearance settings, and other preferences.
• Manage notification preferences and provide service communications or reminders when the relevant delivery feature is available and enabled.
• Respond to support and privacy requests, diagnose problems, and protect against abuse or unauthorized access.
• Measure referral-link activity and associate referrals with tracked offers, including administering referral relationships.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We use cookies and local storage for different purposes. Cookies may be sent with requests to our website; local storage remains in your browser unless an application feature reads or uses it. These technologies are not all essential to signing in.

You can delete or block cookies and clear site data through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, reset preferences or onboarding guides, and interrupt referral attribution. Clearing browser data does not delete information saved to your BankHound account.

• Authentication: our authentication provider uses session information and cookies to keep you signed in and refresh your session. Their lifetime depends on the authentication session and provider settings.
• Preferences: local storage remembers themes, layout settings, and which onboarding guides you have completed or dismissed. Onboarding progress is scoped to the account and browser; guest progress may carry into the first account used in that browser. This data generally remains until cleared or updated. A sidebar preference cookie may persist for up to seven days.
• Referral attribution: following a signup link through our referral redirect can set a visitor-identification cookie for up to 365 days and an offer-specific click-attribution cookie for up to 30 days. Later referral visits can renew these periods. Cookie names may retain an earlier product name.
• Third-party destinations: banks and referral partners may set their own cookies after you visit their sites. Their policies and browser controls govern those cookies.

We use service providers to support hosting, authentication, data storage, and operation of the Service. Supabase supports our account authentication and application database. Providers process information needed for their roles, subject to applicable arrangements and their own obligations. Authorized operators and administrators may access account, tracker, or referral information to operate and support the Service.

Following a bank or referral link sends you to an independent website. That destination receives the information normally involved in your visit, such as your IP address and browser information, and may receive referral parameters included in the link. Our signup redirect does not send the paycheck amounts, transaction notes, or bank-account labels saved in your tracker to the destination.

We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect people or the Service, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable safeguards. We may also share information at your direction or with your consent.

Some offer links are affiliate or referral links. BankHound or its operator may receive compensation or a referral reward if you use a link and meet the partner’s conditions. Our referral records help attribute this activity. A referral relationship does not give us access to your bank account or confirm that you have received a bonus.

The Service’s Analytics page summarizes your recorded bonus activity. It should not be confused with an advertising analytics service. Browser Do Not Track signals do not currently change the Service’s behavior. Contact us if you have questions about referral tracking or a privacy choice available under the law that applies to you.

We retain account and tracker information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, maintain your records, address support requests, and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on the type of information, account status, legal requirements, security needs, and whether a dispute is ongoing.

You may request deletion by contacting us. Certain information may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons. Copies in backups may remain until those backups are replaced or expire, and information that has been irreversibly de-identified may be retained. Deleting an account does not automatically clear cookies or local storage on your devices.

You can review and update information through the controls available in your account and tracker, adjust supported notification preferences, and manage browser storage in your browser settings. If you receive optional promotional emails, use their unsubscribe instructions or contact us to stop them. Essential account or security messages may still be sent.

Depending on your location and the law applicable to us, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or opt out of certain disclosures or uses. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. This policy does not assume every privacy law applies to every user or to the Service.

Send requests to info@bankhound.com with the subject "Privacy request." Tell us the account email and the action you are requesting. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority, but please do not send bank passwords or full account numbers. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, explain any denial, and provide any available appeal process. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If applicable, you may also contact the privacy regulator or supervisory authority where you live.

We use access controls and other measures intended to protect information. No website, storage system, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Keep your login credentials private, use a strong password, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Our providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements apply to our handling of your information.

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

We may update this policy as the Service or our practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required, such as an in-product notice or email, and obtain consent when applicable law requires it.
